What benefits does gymnastics have for boys?

Gymnastics training is the BEST program for developing basic, athletic, core fundamentals that young boys must have to participate in any sport. Strength, flexibility and coordination are just a few of the needs the physical body needs in order to be competitive. Confidence, self esteem and self worth are also developed and cultivated to help each boy reach his full potential.

StrengthOur Instructors

Our instructors are USA Gymnastics Safety Certified and are USAG professional members.  They are specially selected and trained to safely bring out the best in each child by encouraging each child to do their best.  Without question, it is our special instructors who have made Oklahoma Gold Gymnastics the #1 children's program in Edmond for 12 years!

Recreational Gymnastics Curriculum

Our recreational gymnastics curriculum is based on USAG Jr. Olympic Program as well as our combined 75 years experience of teaching gymnastics to children. Our curriculum is designed to provide a non-competitive, achievement-oriented program of life skills, conditioning and flexibility.

Which Class is best for my son?

We use age as the primary variable to determining your child's class time. Boys 5 years old to 8 years old are grouped together regardless of skill ability. Same goes for the 9 years old and up.  We've found that most boys skill level in gymnastics is somewhere between beginner and intermediate.  Our staff can teach to the level of each child within each class.  So just pick a day and time that fits into your schedule, and leave the rest to us.

Are there more advanced programs available if my son has the talent?

Yes, we have several advanced programs for talented boys.  We have hotshot programs for advanced K-1st grades, and Junior Olympians for boys 2nd grade and older.  These programs are by invitation only.  The coaching staff evaluates all the boys, and then makes recommendations to the parents if they feel a child needs to be placed in an advanced program.

What do the boys wear?

Having funBoys should wear a shorts and a t-shirt, tucked in. For tumbling, bare feet are best. Please no gum.

Is there a 'show off' program at the end of the year?

Trophies

Only during the school year program.  All recreational students will be eligible to participate in the M&M Olympics the last week of session 4. This is our big end of the school year 'show-off' event. After demonstrating their skills, each boy will climb atop the 'champions' podium and receive a trophy and 3 bags of M&M candies as a reward for all they've accomplished. Parents, Grandparents and Friends are encouraged to attend this exciting event.
